Scribner rule
a diagram log rule that assumes 1-in (2.54-cm) boards and 0.25-in (0.64-cm) kerf, is based on diameter at the small end of the log, disregards taper, and does not provide for overrun —note the Scribner rule underestimates lumber yield on small logs and on long logs with taper —see Doyle rule, Doyle-Scribner rule, Scribner decimal C log rule
