tarif table
a series of harmonized single-entry volume tables applicable only to even-aged stands
—note 1. the volume of a tree with a basal area of 1 ft2 (0.09 m2) is often used as the index to the tables and is called the tarif number of that table
—note 2. the choice of any tarif for a given tree or crop depends either on the mean volume of a small sample of trees or on some index of site or height derived from examining (a small sample of) the crop itself —note 3. tarifs may be general or local, and also compound (i.e., site classes differentiated) or simple (site classes undifferentiated)
